Hi Guys,

As a few of you have already heard we had a tragedy strike our group in the early hours of Saturday Morning.

A first time CannonBaller named Shaun Fitzpatrick was killed in a car crash at around 2.30am in the morning.

He was coming home from a night out and when turning at an intersection was "T-Boned" by a 15 year old in a stolen Subaru.

Our thoughts go out to Shaun's family as this is such a horrible thing to happen to such an awesome young person, I personally meet him on Friday afternoon to hand him his sticker pack and get his entry form.... We talked for around 10 minutes, he was super excited for his first run.

The Herald (as per usual) twisted the story to make it put a bit of a bad spin on the event which is a shame considering we are really about driver safety and vehicular fun, luckily the guys at TV3 where actually more interested in reporting the news and not selling papers, I have attached the video below.

Had we known on the day the details of what had happened we would have had a minutes silence for him, I'm hoping after seeing this video we all will have our own little minute for him.

Rest in peace Shaun.
